DESCRIPTION:Explore the psychological frameworks David A. Hoffman uses to h
 elp Collaborative professionals better understand the causes of impasse an
 d the techniques used to resolve them. Building on the perspectives shared
  in his recent book\, The Art of Impasse-Breaking in Mediation\, Hoffman w
 ill discuss the use of Internal Family Systems\, a nonpathologizing and in
 tuitive framework that fosters curiosity and compassion for clients. The w
 ebinar will also explore “core concerns” (Fisher &amp\; Shapiro)\, Sys
 tem 1/System 2 thinking (Kahneman)\, and the psychology behind “difficul
 t conversations” (Stone\, Patton &amp\; Heen).\nParticipants will learn 
 about several psychological models that can help Collaborative professiona
 ls understand the sources of negotiation impasses. Participants will also
  learn how to use those models to overcome impasses.\nParticipants will le
 arn about the "three tables" of negotiation: a) expected value (b) interes
 t-based bargaining\; and (c) emotional connection and understanding.\nTo h
